Bills vs. Lions score: Live updates, highlights, analysis for Thanksgiving game; Von Miller insults knee, out

The Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills are already putting on a show for us this Thanksgiving, with plenty of offense in an entertaining first half that has Buffalo leading 17-14 heading into the break. Tyler Bass had a 47-yard field goal to give Buffalo the lead at the half, one play after James Houston prevented the Bills from a touchdown drive by sacking Josh Allen on third down to hold them to a field goal.

The Bills suffered a devastating loss as Von Miller is out with a knee injury suffered late in the second quarter. Miller was taken out on a cart and the injury appears to be significant.

Josh Allen has a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown in the first half, passing Patrick Mahomes and Cam Newton for the most passing and rushing touchdowns in the first five seasons of a career (161) in NFL history. Only Dan Marino (171) has more than Allen to start a career. Allen’s three-yard touchdown run gave the Bills a 14-7 lead in the second quarter and he also has a touchdown pass to Isaiah McKenzie that gave Buffalo the first score of the game.

Jared Goff has a touchdown pass in the first half, throwing one to Amon-Ra St. Brown on fourth-and-goal that tied the game at 14 with 1:52 left in the second quarter. St. Brown, who had his first touchdown catch since Week 2, four catches for 34 yards and a score. Jamaal Williams also has a touchdown run, which is his 13th of the season. Only Barry Sanders has more touchdown runs in a season for the Lions than Williams, who tied Sanders (1990) and Billy Sims (1980, 1981) for the third-most touchdown runs in a season in Lions history.

The appetizer for the Thanksgiving Day slate is already a good one. As the second half is set to kick off, be sure to follow along with all the real-time updates and analysis in our live blog below!
